The Finnish Society for Computer Science was established in 1982 as a forum for researchers in the area of computer science and interested parties to meet, as well as for promoting computer science research, applications and the publication of research results. To this end, the society arranges discussions and courses for its members, carries out research, as well as broadcasting and publishing research results, and cooperates with other societies in the field, both nationally and internationally. Furthermore, the society may participate in the arrangement of international symposiums and conferences, make presentations and propositions, as well as make statements and give out grants.
